Hi all!  Thanks for all the messages that we have gotten already!  We still like
to look at least twice a day to see who is "watching" Little Al during his big
adventure.

Today was a pretty hard day, however as Ryan and I were talking about it,
we're not sure who it was harder on, us, or Little Al!  By bed time, he was acting
like nothing had happened.  Anyway, we got to the hospital at about 8:15 this
morning and the first order of business was seeing the neurologist.  This was
pretty low key, he just asked us questions about Alan's growth and stuff.  Then
he told us that he's right on track neurologically speaking.  This was part of the
study we have Alan in.  Then we were off to MRI which was also part of the
study.  They tried to sedate Alan for the MRI and then the echo which was to
follow.  When Holly left the room, Alan was asleep.  When she went back in, he
was awake, and the MRI tech told her that he pretty much was awake the whole
time.  The poor boy was so hungry!  We had to wait an hour to get the echo done,
and 1/2 hour for them to tell us we could feed him.  By the time they said it was
OK to feed him, daddy had him asleep again!  Anyway, by the time they were
ready to do the echo, he was awake, so we fed him while they did the echo.  All
of you who know our son, you can imagine how that went.  He was pretty out of
it, but knew enough that he didn't like what they were doing.  They got some
pictures of his heart, but will have to get more tomorrow...If Dr. Mooradian is
reading, we told them they needed to get under his neck first while he was
eating, otherwise they wouldn't get a picture...and we were right!

Anyway, we are not looking forward to tomorrow, but have to keep in mind that
we don't have a choice.  We have to stop feeding him again at 5am, and be at the
hospital at 9:30 to prep for his cath procedure.  He will get his cath put in, and
then he will officially be admitted to the hospital.  He will be under observation
for 5-6 hours to make sure the anesthetic is OK, then if we are comfortable,
and the Doctors say OK, we can take him back to the hotel for the night on a
pass.  They will tell us tomorrow which case we will be on Friday, so will let you
know tomorrow night what time surgery is.

After the huge day, the three of us came back and took a pretty long nap.  Little
Al woke up after a couple of hours starving again, so he ate, stayed up a little
longer, and is now sawing logs.  Ryan and I are holding in there as best we can.
It's not easy, but we'll do it!  Like I said, I think this may be harder on us then
Little Al.
The pictures for today were taken after all this, and he is acting like
it's no big deal!  What a strong boy!  Nana, Papa, Grammy Jo, Grandpa Ed, Aunt
Marcia and Uncle Al all will arrive tomorrow afternoon to be here for surgery...

Will let you know tomorrow the time frame for surgery!  We are almost there!!
Stay safe in this weather we're hearing about.  It's foggy but warm here!

Later,
Holly, Ryan, and Little Al
