RECENT UPDATE!!!!!  - 18:30 pm CST (posted after posts below)

We hate to have to post any bad news, but even though the surgery was a
success, Little Al is having major difficulty coming out of surgery.  His heart
function his not as strong as it should be.  There are no more surgery options
for him at this time, they are trying regulate it with medication.  While he has
shown some small signs of improvement, he is a very sick boy and the next 12
hours will be the most crucial and critical.  If they can hold him where he is or
make improvements, tomorrow will hopefully bring better news.  We are going
to be here through out the night and will report back tomorrow.  We know he is
in the best possible care and they are doing all they can, but most of all, Alan is
a very strong and stubborn boy, and he will do all he can.

Surgery Update number 1   - 11:00 am CST

Holly & I just returned to the PICU waiting room after taking Little Al down to
surgery.  He was taken in to be anesthetized about 10 minutes ago.  Holly & I
are trying our best to be strong, but it is really hard.  We are very glad to have
our family here to help out.

The first update from surgery should come in about 2 hours, but as they tell us,
no news is good news, so if it is a little longer, don't get worried.

Next update around 1:00 pm CST.

Update number 2  - 1:30 pm CST

Louise just gave us our first update, they are about 1/3 of the way through and
things are going well.  No unexpected surprises and he should be on bypass only
another hour or so.  They are going to fix the tricuspid valve as expected and do
some work to enlarge his arteries that run to his lungs which will help his blood
flow and is considered part of the Hemi-Fontan procedure.

Our next update should be in about an hour, 2:30 pm CST.

FINAL Update!!! - 3:00 pm CST

Surgery is DONE!!!!  Everything went as expected, which we feel is GREAT!  We
are expecting Little Al to be brought to the ICU in about an hour, then we will
need to wait another hour before we get in to see him.  BUT EVERYTHING
WENT GREAT!  So we are very relieved. Not much else to report at this time,
but wanted to let everyone know that the surgery is done.

Marycateandashley JUST WALKED IN!!!!  We are giving her the good news and
it is nice to share our joy!

Well, we will update later tonight after we have had a chance to see him.

Till then....

Much Love, Holly, Ryan, Little Al and family...
