| Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well. We here in the Miller house are hanging in there! Here are our updates... Daddy: As you all know has gone back to work. He would gladly trade places with mommy any day to be able to stay home all day with his boy! Little Al does e-mail him every once in a while so that he doesn't get lonely. Mommy: Still at home on maternity leave, which is wonderful. She's dreading the day she has to leave to go back to work. Not because of the work, but she just can't imagine being away from Little Al for that long every day. She's a little tired every day, and the housework is getting a little behind, but the reason is definitely worth it! Big sister Erin: Has started 6th grade now. We have been so busy talking about Little Al, that we have neglected the girls! She likes it as far as we know. Definitely growing up faster than we'd like! She likes softball and swimming, and gets very good grades in school! Her favorite subject is Spelling...she always gets A's! Big sister Megan: has started 5th grade, and loves school. She likes softball and swimming just like her sister. Her favorite subject in school is Art. She, too, gets very good grades. Dad and Holly are very proud of both girls. Little Al: 8 weeks old now, kind of hard to believe! It's been a little stressful, as we think he may have colic, and have a hard time comforting him sometimes. We've been through many changes trying to fix the problem, and I'm sure that doesn't help, either. He is now eating hypo-allergenic formula. The Dr. thinks he may have food allergies, so both milk and soy based formula would irritate his tummy. This last weekend was pretty frustrating, so when Daddy and I decided to change his NG tube, we took his old tube out, and then decided to do a little experiment of our own and keep the tube out, deciding that it may be the culprit. So, we have been tubeless since Sunday, which means all feedings and meds through the mouth. Mommy got him to eat 3 ounces tonight, so is hopeful that he will continue to gain weight, and not have to go back on the tube. We are not getting our hopes up, because we have to do what is best for him, but just maybe...I really do think Little Al is more comfortable this way...I guess anyone would be without a tube stuck up their nose and down their throat! So, that is the update on the Miller family. Little Al is still the one to keep us on our toes. The girls are wonderful, helping Holly when Ryan was sick. Erin went above and beyond what a big sister should have to do. She is learning how to take care of her little brother, and it is great! HMMMM I see a great babysitter in the future!! It will be interesting this weekend in the Peterson side of the family...Iowa plays Michigan!! Sorry guys...GO BLUE!! Click here for pics! With love, Holly, Ryan, Erin, Megan, Little Al |
