Day three saw Dave working again, so we decided to head west to see the 'Grand Canyon' of Hawaii, otherwise known as Waimea
Canyon.  It truly was a remarkable site and we recommend that anyone heading to Hawaii should try to take this in.  We of course started
out at virtually sea level and ended up at almost 4000 feet above sea level when we finally reached the top.  Along the way we saw many
views of the Canyon, a beautiful waterfall and then stood in awe looking out over the ocean that seemed we were in the heavens as the
clouds moved in, out, up and down.  My altimeter in my watch confirms our elevation.  It was too cloudy to see the island of Niihau very well,
so we did not get any photos of the island.  On the way down we stopped and ate lunch at a quaint café in a setting that seemed more like
Colorado than Hawaii.  We then also decided to try a few side roads out and found many different directions that we could take, as you can
see the roads have much to be desired!  We then continued our way back down to sea level and temperatures back in the 80's, unlike the
cool 60's of the hills.  Later that evening, Dave took us to a wonderful Japanese restaurant where we had another wonderful dinner!
